China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (China Eastern) is an air carrier operating in China. The primary focus of the Company’s business is the provision of domestic, regional and international passenger airline services. During the year ended December 31, 2009, China Eastern operated approximately 6,894 scheduled flights per week (excluding charter flights), serving a route network that covers 146 domestic and foreign cities in 21 countries. The Company operates primarily from Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport and Pudong International Airport. Its most significant cargo and mail routes are international routes. As of December 31, 2009, China Eastern had six MD-11F freight aircraft under operating leases for cargo and mail operations. It also had three Airbus A300-600R, as well as two Boeing 747-400ER freighters for its cargo operations in 2009. On January 28, 2010, China Eastern completed the acquisition of Shanghai Airlines Co., Ltd.
