Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd. is principally engaged in the production and sale of beer, while its subsidiaries and associated companies are mainly engaged in the production, sale and domestic trading of beer. The Company’s principal brand is Tsingtao beer. As of December 31, 2009, the Company operated 53 breweries in 18 provinces, cities and regions all over the People's Republic of China. During the year ended December 31, 2009, the Company’s sales volume of beer reached 59.1 million hectoliter. On April 22, 2009, the Company entered into the production distribution agreement with Yantai Beer Tsingtao Asahi Company Limited (Yantai Beer), whereby the Company obtained the rights for the distribution of all products of Yantai Beer. As of December 31, 2009, the Company owned a 39% interest in Yantai Beer.
